Reap the benefits of Rosehip Oil

by Cynthia Alleyne

Rose hip oil has been proven to be one of the great dry skin remedies. Rose hip oil has a high concentration of unsaturated, essential fatty acids, namely oleic, linoleic and linolenic acid. They are called "essential" because our body is not able to reproduce them, and because they help to nourish and maintain a healthy skin.

Rose hip oil also contains other antioxidants such as flavonoids and Vitamins C, D and E. In fact, rose hips have one of the highest concentrations of any plant. This is what makes this natural product ideal for every type of skin care product.

Rose hip oil comes from the red, berry-like fruits (hips) of a wild rose that grows in the Americas. This wild plant is known as rosa mosqueta in Chile and has been a staple food in the diets of the indigenous tribes.

The healing properties that have been attributed to rose hips and rose hip oil for years have been backed up by scientific research.

Rose Hip Oil for Scar Treatment

Rose hip oil has been used as a treatment for scars of all types. It helps avoid the formation of hypertrophic scars and helps restore the normal color of skin. Some reports have even claimed that rose hip oil can "shrink" stretch marks.

Scars can become less noticeable and softer. For surgical patients, it is advisable to apply rose hip oil 2 to 4 weeks prior to surgery if they want to help control the appearance of post-op scars.

Rose Hip Oil as a Skin Moisturizer

Due to its essential fatty acids and vitamin rich composition, rose hip oil is superb for natural dry skin care. Its ultra light texture allows its quick absorption without greasy residue unlike so many dry skin care products. All of these characteristics make rose hip oil the best treatment for dry skin and its consequences.

This natural oil is such a gentle ingredient that it can be used for eczema and dry skin treatment.

The aging process is frequently associated with a depressed metabolic rate in all tissues including the skin. In this case, rose hip oil hinders the decline in the metabolic functions of the skin. It increases irrigation to the skin and generates the renewal of skin cells.

This, in turn, helps reduce wrinkles caused by the aging process and helps treat the discolorations or dark spots present in sun damaged skin. Rose hip oil helps prevent photoaging in addition to treating it.

Using Rose Hip Oil

Massage the oil into the affected area with your fingertips until it is completely absorbed. Rose hip oil can react to the sunlight by causing hyperpigmentation so we recommend you use it during the night. If you use it during the day you must use sunblock.

By using rose hip oil twice a day for approximately 3 months, you can reduce scar tissue, help to prevent and reduce stretch marks and diminish wrinkles and age spots.

Use Bio Rose Hip Oil as your principal dry skin care product. This dry skin lotion helps deal with dry skin and skin rashes while it treats scars and blemishes without leaving behind a oily residue. Try this cream and our other natural skin care products for your skin care problems.
