Preventing and Treating Teenage Stretch Marks

by Gabriell Rygh

When going through puberty your life seems filled with problems such as pimples, acne, growth spurts, weight gain, and don't forget the appearance of stretch marks. It seems like a difficult moment in life and it's a wonder you can even survive it, however, you should keep in mind that you're not the first to go through puberty and certainly not the last. That's why it's comforting to know that there are ways of dealing with these problems.

In the case of stretch marks the group of teenagers most affected is usually women, however men aren't a stranger to stretch marks. In order to protect your skin your best bet is stretch mark prevention. Always remember, the more elastic your skin is, the more likely it will stand up to excessive stretching.

Prevent Stretch Marks

The main causes of stretch marks are both growth spurts and rapid weight fluctuations, however, stretch marks are often produced when there is a disruption in the production of collagen. So, if the disruption of collagen is to blame for these unsightly skin lesions, then it's fair to assume that collagen boosting products - those containing Vitamin A and E) - can help prevent their appearance.

Once you've found the right stretch marks cream, you need to be consistent with its application if you are really serious of preventing stretch marks.

Another source of stretch marks is weight gain. Because of hormonal fluctuations most teenagers begin to gain weight, and sometimes this weight increase is excessive.

In order to keep this under control, it is important that you follow a sensible diet. Consuming fresh fruits and vegetables is an excellent way of maintaining a healthy weight. Try to stay away from junk food and fast food as they only contain empty calories and can even exacerbate another teen problem: acne.

You can also help yourself maintain a healthy weight by exercising regularly. Exercise has other benefits as well. It can keep your skin healthy, keep your body flexible and strong and even control your mood swings.

Stretch Marks Be Gone!

Stretch marks lotions can help you get rid of stretch marks or minimize their appearance. There is also a natural, cold pressed oil that is an excellent stretch mark treatment: rose hip seed oil. This oil is gentle and safe for teenage use.

Rose hip oil comes from the rosa moschata bush in South America. Its success with stretch mark treatment has to do with its high levels of Vitamin A, Vitamin C and essential fatty acids.

These substances promote the production of new collagen and skin cells. Damaged tissue is dissolved and flushed from the affected area. This process takes several months, but once it takes effect you will see how the stretch mark begins to shrink in size.

If you don't trust stretch marks creams, then you can always just cover them up. Body makeup is more durable than traditional foundation. Spray-on tans are an ideal way to cover up your stretch marks, especially during summer.

BIOBODYCREAM is a natural stretch mark treatment cream that is made with a natural mix of ingredients potent enough to remedy stretch marks and help prevent stretch marks. The main ingredient is snail serum, a natural compound that can gently treat all skin safely and effectively.
